Outtakes-Christmas Card Edition

Dear Web Log,

Has it been seasonal around here! And by that, yes, I mean crazy. So many things keeping me away from recording our lives in these silly posts, "creating material for the Web Log," that's how I categorize the slots of time that are too full of life to have time to stop and muse about it.

Shopping, list making, Advent praying, soul searching, you know, buying a house, stuff like that.

So, yes, that means a sad, sand-filled goodbye to the beloved Beach House days. Won't miss the sand. In our beds. In our toothbrushes. In our, you get the picture.

We close on the new house in just a couple weeks, making the Christmas busy-ness all the more busy. We have been so very blessed to have the life that we had on the beach here, and certainly didn't expect to find a permanent home so soon. Being the gypsies we are, we are only excited to move on to the next new thing...what's wrong with us!!!

But fully expect the upcoming posts to be very beach filled, including, I am so hoping, tomorrow to bring the Web Log the conclusion of my Wanna See the Beach House series. Inside!

Anyway, blabber blabber, what I really wanted to show off are the outtakes of our beloved Christmas card. We love our yearly Christmas card, always. Brings us so much happiness to create and share.

And tears, it brings us lots and lots of tears. And that, Dear Web Log, is what I bring you today:

Gosh, Joseph, thanks! Almost a perfect picture on the FIRST TAKE!
Wouldn't want to pose for a perfect picture so soon and
miss out on the ensuing chaos!

Why don't we bring the dog into the mix, that always
makes things easier.

One of the more treasured moments.
Wouldn't want to be Joseph.

Practicing for the perfect smile.

That's better.

Um, Isaac?

Total loss of parental control.
Nice pants, Peter.
Nice diaper, Isaac.

I want to be left alone!
No more paparazzi!

...And you'll have to stay tuned to find out if we got One. Good. Shot. Merry Christmas Card!

  1. What a house full of personalities you have! It looks like your sweet, angelic girls make life easy for you. We have the opposite house with four girls and two boys, and my boys are the easy ones! ;)
I get the gypsy thing, if we aren't moving, or recovering from a move, we are dreaming and shopping of where to next. We see nothing wrong with that! It's almost qualifies as our hobby.
Congrats on the house and enjoy your soaking-in-the-last-days at the beach before you're next adventure. Sand in the toothbrushes- argh! Can't wait to see the pics!

  2. I love your family!
Okay, I'm voting on the 'Total Loss of Parental Control' photo - do you know how much I would love to see that show up in my mailbox with beautiful Christmas Greetings embellished on the front in elegant splendor. It would be the best!
I have missed your posts, but do understand. Our life has been crazy busy as well and finding time to blog can at times just be impossible!

  3. I love Christmas card outtakes. I almost used one as our card this year but I knew my mom would be very disappointed if she opened up the card and saw that ugly mess!

  4. I'll take one of each. At least everyone's got all five fingers and toes!

  5. One year, we will all use our outtakes and smile knowing we share real motherhood moments. I don't know when that'll be though because who doesn't strive for the elusive "perfect" picture.

  6. Love them! I love AnneMarie's dress, and Jude looks so much like Obi to me, while Peter has a distinctively Moody look. Am I crazy and imagining this? I don't know... I'll be praying for you as you embark on the move, dear friend. (-:

    1. So funny how genes are. People usually say Jude looks like Obi. Obi thinks Peter looks like him and anyone who has seen a picture of my dad when he was young says how much Jude looks like him. Jude has the Moody nose.

  7. These all made me smile. Taking "the family photo" is crazy stuff. These are great and I love your sense of humor. I can tell there is a lot of laughter around your home.

  9. Outtakes are my favorite parts of Christmas pictures. One year, I took 50 pictures, and in everyone one of them, The Jude was sobbing. In about half of them, JL looked like a drunk frat boy. Memories.
Can't wait to see the finished product.
