Cuteness factor has decreased a polled 98%, but I'm pretty sure I'm still the same little girl under there.I believe the first photo was taken by a family friend the summer of 1980. The second was taken on the black and white setting of my non-DSLR, by moi, yesterday. I took a million, and in all but this one I resembled either Gollum, Rosasharn from Grapes of Wrath, or inexplicably, Steve Buscemi. I used Picasa's infrared film and glow filters to get the same effect as the first photo.
Kind of humbling to see how the face changes and not be ashamed of everything that comes with age. And so wonderful to see how little features are passed down to the children. Far more often family and friends point out how much the kids look like Obi than they do me. But I asked AnneMarie, Naomi and Isaac who the picture of the child was, and they all thought it was themselves! So there.
I love this! The amazing thing is that your face has not changed that much. You can still see the little girl you were in that grown-up face. These pictures are both just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour little girl looks so much like you! How cool is that!
ReplyDeleteI might be able to pull this off with my older son...but then it stops. My husbands genepool took over and the kids look like him.sigh.
You are beautiful.
Haha! They are both me. Clarity has never been my strong suite.
DeleteI love this!! You're still adorable. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that you finally outgrew those pesky baby hairs that were growing all around your hair line. Oh wait, never mind.
ReplyDeleteSome call them monkey hairs.
DeleteAwesome! And the years have been very very kind to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I thought it was your little girl at first too! Love this idea. I bet there are a few things you could tell that little girl, huh?
ReplyDeleteI love this! So absolutely and totally you!
ReplyDeleteWOW you haven't changed a bit. Really. I love the recreate a picture trend but this is one of my favorites I've seen. I wish I loved a picture of me enough to attempt. Just stunning.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at seeing family resemblances in my own kids, but I see Peter and The Jude in your childhood picture.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am oddly happy that your mysterious mona lisa smile hasn't changed in all those years.
Awesome! Way to replicate a photo. You are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRebekah. Seriously. You are so beautiful. You were then and you are now. I just love this take on it.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the laugh-out-loud moment r.e. Steve Buscemi. HA!
These are awesome photos. You have done a marvelous job in making them look so similar and I can't believe how much you still look like yourself!! (That does make sense, doesn't it?? I mean, people have been known to grow up and look completely different!!) Anyhow, they are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful! I really love this theme and you did such a great job replicating the light from the first photo! I laughed hard at the Steve Buscemi comment, I don't see it but I did recently find a Steve Buscemi cross stitch that I almost bought for a white elephant gift (I mean who finds that kind of awesomeness and then gives it away, I'm afraid I would have kept it just to show people it really exists)
ReplyDeleteI hope all is going well with the move this week! Is it a 1 or 2 bag peanut M & M week?
You will regret that for the rest of your life, I'm afraid!
DeleteI think the Buscemi look came trying to stare off into nothingness and purse my lips just so. So much trial and mainly error.
And I think next week, our final week in Central Florida, I am switching to boxed wine ;)
Oh, I love the comparison. Fantastic idea. And you look like exactly the same! Exactly.
ReplyDeleteJenny Sawyer do you need a b-----slapping?? (-; You look exactly the same - amazing. I love these, and gorgeous, of course!!
ReplyDeleteDang, this is cool. You are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeauty that transcends time, wow!
ReplyDeleteWowzers! Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this!!!! Great shots! And Steve Buscemi?? Puh-lease!
ReplyDeleteIf this was a movie, everyone would be talking about how they found a little girl actress that looks exactly like you. This is beautiful, and so are you (both versions!).
ReplyDeleteLooove this. And you're still beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I think you look the same!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Becky!
ReplyDeleteLove the two side by side self portraits!
(And boy, am I old...I was 15 in the summer of '80! yikes!)
Great shots!
God bless
Definitely NOT Gollum! That dude seriously freaks my freak out! YOU are way Too beautiful to even be on the same plane as that little devils spawn!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think it's a picture of me!
ReplyDeleteI love all those pictures from so long ago! We all looked good in them, even John. Remember when we asked Peter and Jude to name everyone and they both thought John was you? Hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't stop looking at this!!! You know dad's crying. Well, not outwardly. Outwardly he's just "tisking"
DeleteAww...this is so cute...you looked great then, and you look great now!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!!! You are gorgeous...then and now :)
