Theme Thursday: Sky and an Announcement

This is my contribution for Theme Thursday with Clan Donaldson,  this week, Sky.  It is supposed to look largely ominous, foreboding, but with signs of hope waiting to break through violently, with the clouds breaking and the oleander blooming. I wish I had some kind of symbolism wrapped up in the Orange County Courthouse, but really it just means downtown Orlando to me, as it is the building that denotes where we exit the highway to get to Mass.

Hopeful sky?

Yes, once again, the Family Es is picking up the flip flops and the futons and starting over again, Somewhere Else. Huge apologies to, well, actually everyone I know, that this serves as an unlooked for announcement, but it has been a week filled with huge emotions, lots of cheek biting, thumb picking, and not hair brushing to reach this decision.

My man obi was approached with an unsolicited incredible opportunity to do what he loves to do best: Something New. And like the gypsy troopers we have trained the kids to be, we will all follow with happy and hopeful hearts, and many, many tears for all that we will leave behind.

I can't get into details yet, as all the i's have not been crossed, t's not dotted, but let me just say we are moving here (my pics):

How is that for sky?

Thanks for your prayers in advance, as the trials ahead will need to be slain like dragons, furiously and one by one.

OH!  And one more thing:

Momo in front of Saint James Cathedral, Downtown Orlando.

You didn't really think you would get out of here without a kid shot, did you?

  2. WAIT! You're moving TOO?! And I simply MUST know: are those shots of a sunrise or a sunset? This matters a very great deal to me!

    1. sunset! Not a morning person unless I'm running, and then I never wear glasses or contacts, so I can't see anything but color.

    2. Oh, but just realized, for your Sherlockian skills, this is not the Pacific.

    2. Is it Hawaii? Can it be Hawaii? Because if it's not New England, it may as well be Hawaii.

And dang it, now I'm all preoccupied trying to figure out where you're going that I'm not paying proper attention to your pictures which are, as always, beautiful.

  4. I'm stumped. West coast Florida? No palm trees on the Eastern side of the Great Lakes, so I'm stumped. The pink flower pictures are fabulous though!

  9. I'm glad your going for it - Pete and I have lived in several states and even though moving is hard work and adjusting to a new place is even harder work, it has always been worth it. Good luck to your family and I'm eager for the details after the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed!

  11. I have a guess.... Is it one of the Carolina islands, whatever they're called? Blink once if yes. Kidding! No need to respond.

But the real reason I came back was that in all my excitement I forgot to comment on the photos. I love the top one best. I'd frame that baby in a heartbeat.

  12. This year has had so much upheaval! Lots of movement and change in the universe. Selfishly I thought it was only me. Make room for the Michigan Moody's in your hood if it is Gulf side Florida! Could this be possible?

  14. What an exciting thing a move is! Terrifying, overwhelming, cry and eat a lot of chocolate...um...ing. BUT, still exciting! And soon you will have moved, and will no longer be moving, and the past tense will make the experience rosey in you memory. :-) Best of luck, and lovely shots.

  17. Those are beautiful pictures!! Beautiful!! I'm guessing you are moving to the gulf side of Fl since those are gorgeous sunsets founds in the West. I know, maybe you're moving to my area..Naples, right??!?!!? Of course, I'm moving FROM my area soon, so we can wave at each other from the highway. LOL

  18. Oh..and wanted to add that we are a gypsy family too. All of my kids have been born in a different state...in 12 1/2 years of marriage we've lived in 5 different states. Here's to the wanderers!!

  22. Gorgeous, gorgeous!! I love those first two shots. And I love the other ones, too, but for different reasons. Good luck with your move...if it wasn't for the palm fronds and the fact that you said it wasn't the Pacific, I'd think you were headed my way. :-)

  25. It doesn't even seem real to me - so I imagine how unreal it must seem to you. I'm so happy for you guys! I just looked at the pictures again and that's all I keep saying - it's like something out of a fairy tale or a dream!
