After a full year of Joseph
Snake grandparenthood has not been nearly as revolting as I feared it to be, which doesn't say much considering I assumed it to be close to unendurable, I mean SNAKE!!! But I will admit that I have found it to be surprisingly fascinating to watch the frightful thing swallow whole another frightful thing. A battle I am not sure who I would rather win, but against all odds, snake always trumps dead mouse. Enjoy!
I hear the very tip of the tail is worth the journey to get there
A little bloated
This transpired over the course of about five minutes. Five minutes to eat a week's worth of food, no wonder snakes have such sleek physiques! I feel a fad diet coming on...
Whoa. That is a beautiful snake.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love love love the color play in these two pictures. You've got an amazing eye.
Yikes! I know what I shall nightmare about tonight. My son had three teeny tiny snakes when he was smallish that he caught himself. I thought they were creepy and the biggest thing they ate was a cricket.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Lauren's blog and this is the first post I read! I know I am going to love it here already haha!
ReplyDeleteWow, I don't know if I should be fascinated or freaked out. I'm bookmarking this to show the boys when they get home. ;-)
ReplyDeleteUtterly, horrifyingly fascinating.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Gorgeous photography. I'm a snake fan, but I've never had one as a pet... I imagine it would be different than holding them randomly.
ReplyDeleteSnake grandmother! Haha!
Oh man oh man. This brings back memories. My family had corn snakes (rat snakes, whatever they're called) and we went through this every few weeks. I remember once someone turned on the radio as the snakes were eating, and the old Hardees' commercial was playing: "Are you ready for some REAL FOOD?" Every now and then a snake would get lost. Once it showed up in my room. *Shudder*
ReplyDeleteYOu are definitely a cool mom.
Why?
ReplyDeleteThe snake diet, you eat once a week
DeleteNo. Why would you ever show that?! Disgusting, yet fascinating, right?
DeleteOkay, so I was really enjoying your blog until this . . . Aaaaaahhhhhh! I live in Georgia, and it's bad enough. THe truly tropical states incubate a few varieties that can't take our hard frosts.
ReplyDeleteYou're a braver mother I!
