Theme Thursday: Piles. Piles o' Pictures

Rocking along with my Theme Thursday Photography Club, sponsored by Cari at Clan Donaldson. Just joshin' ya, it's not a club. But that is what I tell myself at 4 in the afternoon on Wednesday when I suddenly realize that Thursday proceeds with winged feet, the crazy theme is "piles," (huh? I'm not creative! When is the theme "fat smiling toddlers?")and I have nothing, so I tell myself: "Come up with something or they will kick you out of the club!"

So..here are the piles I found yesterday, interesting only because they were all occurring simultaneously. And I was just going to slap them on here one after another, but in the interest of learning how to do something new, made my first photo collage!

Clockwise from upper left: pile of bro; pile of clothes; pile of snacks left by aforementioned pile of bro; pile of homework.

That is precisely what every afternoon looks like around here.

But my mind just wouldn't let go of the whole pile thing, none of the pictures was the least bit interesting, so I grabbed my pile of dead rosebuds. Yes, I actually keep piles of dead rosebuds lying around. In this lovely  dove shaped pottery. Weird, I know.

I took piles of pictures that looked like this, then slapped on a digital filter my camera offers, "high contrast," and got these:

Pretty cool! Just not me. I imagine myself in the background of these lounging across the back of a baby grand wearing a black velvet dress and Avril Lavigne inspired eye liner. Not that that would be a bad thing.

Anyway, very, very fun. Thanks for letting me play along, Cari!

  1. The family piles happen all over here, too. Can't wait to see my own children toting their laundry. Sigh. It's the small things.

The ROSES, though! Heaven help me, those roses are incredible. I like the original one best, but the high contrast ones are stunning, too.

  2. Piles of bro - love it! It seems the younger piled on bro never enjoys it as much as the older bro.

  3. I had to laugh at your child taking laundry upstairs...looks like a typical Saturday morning in our house when we finally get around to sorting the clean laundry and the piles are bigger than the kids :)

  4. Ooh, the high contrast roses are very eye catching. But I have no idea what I'd do with it if I had a photo like that. The original one would look pretty on my wall. Fun!

  15. The big brother and little bro makes me swoon. So incredibly sweet. Although the little bro can probably do with a little less lovin'. :-)
